How to style: Knee High Boots - Chads

suede knee-high boots missguided

The knee-high boots (and thigh-high boots) are one of this seasons must-have items and have been highly showcased in many of this years Autumn/Winter collections by designers such as Gucci, Tom Ford and Givenchy.

L: Valentino      //     R: Vera Wang

I personally really wanted a suede pair - but didn't want to splurge on a pair of boots which I won't be able to wear too often with London's infamous rainy days throughout the year..
So after a bit of searching, I finally found the pair I wanted:

I purchased these from Missguided (click here) - RRP £40 - But Missguided are always doing great discount offers so I got them for only £30 (wooh!)

A pair of knee/thigh-high boots are so worth buying as they can be styled in so many ways - casually for day time or dressed up for an evening out. It can also be easily incorporated into your Spring wardrobe, especially if you live in colder countries such as England.

Here are a few ways that I would style them:

1: The Midi/Jumper Dress
kurt geiger midi dress ootd

This knit midi dress was purchased from Stradivarius (similar dresses here and here)
A jumper dress like this is so useful to have in your wardrobe as a transitional piece between seasons.
This really is such a simple outfit but still looks like I made an effort. The dress & boots really compliment each other well and totally gives off Kim K vibes <3

2: The Leather Pants:

Here I paired the suede boots with a pair of leather pants. I am not really a big wearer of prints, so I like to spice my outfits by playing with different textures. Here, the contrast between both textures and colours really bring together the outfit.
The front wrap top was purchased from Missguided and the leather pants from Topshop

3: The A Line Skirt

This is probably my favourite look out of the 3; it's just such a cute and preppy outfit.
Pairing your boots with an A-line skirt is a great way to achieve a clean and sophisticated statement.
I purchased this skirt from Boohoo, I don't think they sell it any more but you can buy a similar skirt from Asos here or here, and pair it with a fitted top or polo neck to balance the look.

How would you style the knee-high boots and what was your favourite look?
Let me know :)

Mini Make-Up Haul & MOTD - Chads

Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I actually spent mine mostly at home with family, relaxing and catching up on American Horror Story on Netflix (currently on season 4 and I am SO addicted). Anyways, back on track - I ordered a few new make-up products and they have finally all arrived. So here's my mini beauty haul of the month.

NARS is one of my most favourite high-end cosmetics brands and when I found that ASOS were doing 30% off all beauty products, I just had to take the opportunity to add a few more NARS items to my collection.

I re-purchased my all-time favourite concealer in the shade 'Ginger' which matches my skin perfectly. It has a medium-to buildable coverage and a creamy finish, so it provides enough coverage to hide my imperfections, but without it looking cakey! This concealer combined with the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation gives me such a flawless base and I always receive compliments on my skin/make-up whenever I use these two together.

The concealer also lasts the whole working day without creasing, as long as you set it with some sort of powder - I usually just pat on a bit of the 'banana' powder (from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit) or for a more higher coverage I use my beloved Ben Nye Banana Powder - which you can purchase here from Guru Makeup Emporium.

Blushers were never really a part of my regular make-up routine because for some odd reason I used to think it looked 'clown-ish' on me. But now, I feel so dull without it! I only own a few shades of blushers, mostly pinks and peaches, so I felt like I needed a more subtle everyday shade. I ended up choosing this shade in 'Madly'. Please don't be fooled by the pictures; it may look like more of a light bronzer, but once applied on the cheeks it has a lovely soft beige/pink finish. This blush is perfect for a muted natural glam look or even to wear to work.

Since I was NOT able to get my hands on the MAC's 'Oh Darling' highlighter (from their Magic of the Night collection), I just had to purchase another highlighter as a consolation prize. After looking into a few different ones, I decided to purchase this beauty.
Although it looks white in the pan, it gives such a gorgeous golden glow. I highly recommend this highlighter if you are looking for that Kim K or J-Lo glow. In my opinion, it really is a must in everyone's make-up collection, especially if you are a highlight junkie.

Anastasia Beverly Hills: The Self Made Palette

I am a big fan of ABH products, so I was very excited when this palette was released. I don't actually own that many eyeshadow palettes (and the ones I do own are mostly neutral shades) so I felt no guilt whatsoever purchasing this.
The palette consists of 14 shades (includes both matte and shimmery tones) and only cost £26 - which is considerably cheaper than the Urban Decay palettes.
I had a chance to play around with a few of the shades today and I was really pleased with the quality and pigmentation. I also love that there is a good variety of colours.

I purchased this palette from Cult Beauty but unfortunately, it is currently out of stock. However, you can sign up to get updates on stock availability.

My LUSH Favourites - Chads

I absolutely love LUSH  and over the past few years I have purchased and tried many of their products. The products mentioned in this post, are an integral part of my skincare routine and I highly recommend you try them, especially if you have combination or blemish prone skin like me.

1: Bubblegum Lip Scrub:

This is my 3rd pot and as you can see it's half-way finished. Not only does this stuff smell amazing, but it keeps my lips super soft. Although it's named 'bubblegum' flavour, it smells more like candy floss, but I'm not complaining.
I use this lip scrub around 3-4 times a week to keep my lips flake-free and smooth. I find that the use of this scrub provides the perfect base for lipsticks, especially those with a matte formulation.

2: Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask:

When I first started experiencing acne about a year ago, I decided to try out a fresh face mask with natural products, so LUSH was the first place I went to. I was recommended to try this mask by one of the sales assistants and I used this mask religiously (2 times a week) during my acne break-out.
This mask was so comforting and soothing to use, especially when used straight out of the fridge. I have to admit that it is not one of the more pleasant smelling masks they have, but it's bearable and so worth trying if you have oily, troublesome skin.

The mask is made of:
- garlic and tea tree oil, which provides the anti-bacterial properties
- egg whites, which helps tighten skin
-and honey, so you are left with moisturised skin

This product definitely helped me combat my acne, reduce redness and soothe the pain, all without stripping my skin of its essential oils.

3: Brazened Honey Face Mask:

Now that I have my acne in control, my main issue is the scars they left behind. Along with other products, I have been using this mask for a while now and really feel like it has aided the healing process. The lemon juice in the mask is what really helps lighten blemishes.
I like to use this mask at least once a week and love how soft and smooth my skin is afterwards.

4: Cup O' Coffee Mask:

I love using this mask after a long day as it helps me to relax. I currently have this mask on as I'm writing, and my god, does it smell amazing. It literally smells like Starbucks on my face. This is the most recent addition to my lush products and probably my favourite. Like I mentioned before, since I'm dealing with post-acne blemishes, my main focus has been on using products which help brighten my skin and reduce the redness, and that is exactly what this mask does!

5: Tea Tree Toner Tab:

Every now and then I like to steam my face, especially when I feel like my skin is congested or I just need to open my pores for a good cleanse.
LUSH have a few toner tabs but I always buy the tea tree one because of its antibacterial properties and how refreshing it is.
All you need to do is drop it in a bowl of hot water, drape a towel over your head and hover your face over the bowl so the steam can cleanse and soothe your skin.

Honorary mention: Grease Lightening Spot Treatment:

I rarely use this now, but this was a nightly necessity when I had bad acne. It really helped me control my acne and soothe the redness and pain.

What are your favourite LUSH products? Feel free to comment and let me know :)
